God knows who is truly committed to Him and who is not. I believe we need to pray that the Holy Spirit will give us wisdom and guide us to the right decision as we vote and not make our decision based solely on what we read in the media. I believe every journalist has their own bias and tends to perceive, evaluate, and communicate things through that lens, however well intentioned they may be. I am not sure, for instance, that the attitudes you apparently attribute to Governor Palin accurately reflect what she meant by the prayer she prayed. I have listened to the video recorded prayer many journalists refer to and it sounded to my ears like she was saying something very different than what many journalists infer she was saying. Perhaps your thoughts have been influenced by their thoughts. In the end, if every voter prays and asks God for guidance as they vote, He will do just that and whoever He knows is best suited to serve our country will be elected, and whoever is elected will certainly need our prayers as they take office and endeavor to lead our country forward!Mark Brandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06396308015471448164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8017749649876066369.post-39211399297871406972008-09-15T23:10:00.000-05:002008-09-15T23:10:00.000-05:00Thank you pastor for your views, but I think when ...Thank you pastor for your views, but I think when it comes to politics, it is difficult to judge the minds of these folks. Sarah Palin may have professed her faith and believes, but I do not aggree with her that the USA is fighting God's war by being in Iraq, or that voters in Alaska should pray so that a some gas line can be approved by voters because Gods wants it. Would Jesus really endorse any politician as we have them today: lying, corrupt, self serving, lying, and neglecting the "likes of these". She is not the only one that has professed her faith publicly, one of the other is Obama, and he is still not accepted. Christians still blog that he is a moslem, or ignore such characterization. He has stood up to accept Christ and he is not accepted. Maybe he is also self serving, and so we should leave them to do what they do best. A true christian can never be a successful politician in these times pastor, so I will withhold any benefit of the doubt for Sarah Palin.IsiezeBloghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15474815155075580011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8017749649876066369.post-42598008826879371912008-09-15T22:31:00.000-05:002008-09-15T22:31:00.000-05:00Pastor Brand, thank you so much for continuing to ...Pastor Brand, thank you so much for continuing to bring to light the bias of the media against Christianity in our country. I work with the media on a daily basis in my job and have seen this first hand. I now subscribe to the American Family Association newsletter and so I can keep updated on the latest issues. I write my Senator and Congressmen regularly on the issues that effect me as a Christian. I urge others to write/call their local reprentatives as others that are not on the side of God are doing it and being heard. No longer is our nation considered "One Nation Under God" and we have the responsibility to be like Jesus and call sin what it is - sin.Krishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18400304181014449828noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8017749649876066369.post-90160640705820086142008-09-13T18:29:00.000-05:002008-09-13T18:29:00.000-05:00ok look, writting a letter is not going to work. ...ok look, writting a letter is not going to work. In the case of Adams, he was absent quite a lot. And at another point, he AND his wife were away from their children for many years.

Adams had three sons and a daughter. The eldest son fell very much in line with this fellow's theory and became a president himself (John Quincy Adams). However, another son, Charles Adams, was bitter and resentful towards his father because of his long periods of absence. He becomes a drunken wreck and Adams eventually disowns this son.

So I do wonder if he looked at all members of the family when researching his article or just the ones who became president? No doubt Charles Adams did not do himself any favors in the way he handled his father's absence. On the other hand, I think the elder Adams did do his family a good deal of harm by being absent so much.

I think John Adams could have fulfilled his destiny and been more available to his family. He still would have had to be gone some of the time, but to be gone for stretches of up to 10 years is quite a long time indeed!
God Bless,
DaleAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8017749649876066369.post-43476080310152777022008-05-16T20:33:00.000-05:002008-05-16T20:33:00.000-05:00Stumbled onto your page.
